The behavior of the individual in the company

If we derive what we are indicating towards The Organization-Company, people's behavior is complex; It depends on internal factors defined by its personality characteristics: learning capacity, motivation, perception of the external and internal environment, attitudes, emotions, values, etc., and external, derived from organizational characteristics: rewards and punishment systems, social, political factors, existing group cohesion, etc.

Although people can be taken as resources, that is, as carriers of skills, capacities, knowledge, motivation for work, communicability, etc., It should not be forgotten that people are carriers of personality characteristics, expectations, individual objectives, particular stories, etc. Therefore, it is convenient to highlight some generic characteristics of people as people, since this will improve the understanding we have about human behavior in organizations.

Approaches to studying people

  1. Man as being that performs transactions, since not only receives entries from the environment and acts before them, but also adopts a proactive attitude, anticipating the changes that occur in the environment and, many times, causing them.
  2. The man whose behavior is directed to an objective, since it is able to establish objectives or aspirations and make great efforts to achieve them.
  3. Man as an open system model, directed towards interdependent objectives with the physical and social environment, and actively involved in transactions with the environment, to the extent that it seeks its objectives. This implies that it develops intellectual abilities such as thinking, deciding, etc., and acquire information and knowledge that allows you to know people and things in the environment, and face them.

Characteristics of human behavior

Man is proactive

The behavior of people is oriented towards the satisfaction of their needs and the achievement of their objectives and aspirations. This is why he reacts and responds to his environment, either at work or outside him. People can rebel against the policies and procedures of the organization or collaborate with them, depending on the leadership strategies adopted by the supervisor. In general, behavior in organizations is determined by organizational practices and proactive behavior (aimed towards personal objectives) of the company members.

Man is social

Participating in organizations is very important in people's lives, since this leads them to interact with other people or some groups. Individuals try to maintain their identity and psychological well -being in groups or in organizations. Sometimes they use relationships with other people to get information about themselves and the environment in which they live. The data obtained constitute a social reality for the group and the individuals who take it as the basis to prove and compare their abilities, their ideas and their conceptions, in order to increase the understanding of themselves. In addition, social relations, more than any other isolated factor, determine the nature of the concept that people have of themselves.

Man has diverse needs

Human beings are motivated by great variety of needs. A factor can motivate behavior today and yet it may not have strength to do so tomorrow. Likewise, people's behavior is simultaneously influence.

Man perceives and evaluates

The experience that man accumulates in the environment is an active process Because it selects the data of the various aspects of the environment, evaluates them based on their own experiences and depending on what you are experiencing, according to your own needs and values.

Man thinks and chooses

Human behavior is active in its purpose, orientation and knowledge, And it can be analyzed according to the behavior plans that choose, develop and execute to deal with the stimuli faced and to achieve their personal goals. The expectation theory serves to explain the generic way, as the individual selects and chooses the alternatives.

Man has limited response capacity

Man has limited response capacity to act in accordance with what he intends or ambitions. The way people behave is very restricted, since personal characteristics are limited. Individual differences make people's behaviors vary considerably. The response capacity is given based on skills (innate) and learning (acquisition). Both intellectual and physics capacity are subject to limitations.

Depending on these characteristics of human behavior, the concept of complex man is born.
